Early Years at Dee Point
Here at Dee Point our vision in Reception is to ensure that all children have the necessary foundations for the rest of their schooling through an ambitious, purposeful and coherently planned curriculum.
In Reception, we follow The Early Years Foundation Stage Framework, and to support this we used 'Development Matters.'
There are 7 areas of learning for Early Year which are split into prime and specific areas of learning.
The prime areas include:
- Communication and Language
- Physical Development
- Personal, Social and Emotional
The specific areas include:
- Literacy
- Mathematics
- Expressive Arts and Design
- Understanding the World
It is expected that by the end of Reception, the children will meet their Early Learning Goals (ELGs). The Early Learning goals are split into 17 different goals.
