Design Technology
At Dee Point Primary School, DT inspires creativity and imagination. We offer a thematic sequence of both Design Technology and Art lessons within the curriculum to ensure that the children consolidate and deepen their understanding with the subjects.
At Dee Point Primary School our DT Curriculum intends to:
- Have a high-quality curriculum, that inspires curiosity and fascination through a series of lessons offering skills progression and knowledge progression within and across both subjects.
- Ensure all pupils produce innovative and inspired work in a safe environment.
- Ensure all pupils learn to make informed judgements and both aesthetic and practical decisions based on their learning.
- Ensure they are involved in shaping their environments.
- Record their experiences as well as exploring ideas and meaning through the work of many important artists, designers and craft makers.
- They will become confident and proficient in a variety of techniques including selected design technology skills like textiles, mechanisms and food technology.
