Morning Routines

Each morning, the children come into class and complete a ‘Morning Thinking Challenge’. The children will find their name and attempt the challenge that has been given for that day. Please support your child to practise writing their name at home. 

Reading

Your child will be given a reading book in school and we will be encouraging them to read their level of book.  Your child will start on a sharing book that they will read with an adult in class. We will focus on the structure of the story and will use the pictures to develop story language and vocabulary. Your child will then be given a book that they can read by themselves based on their phonetic ability.

PE

Every Thursday afternoon, we will be taking the children outside for their PE lesson. If the weather does not allow us to go outside for PE, then we will use the main hall. Your child needs to wear their PE kit to school.
