Home Learning

Welcome to our Home Based Learning Portal.

This 'support for home-based learning' portal has been put together to support our families with your children at home due to school closure or self-isolation. We have put together a range of different activities that cover a variety of subjects and can be completed both offline and online. We would like to iterate the following principles;

  • The materials are supplied in good faith and are meant as a way of keeping children interested in learning – they in no way replace adult interaction – and this is crucial.
  • The web links contained within the portal are supplied as a possible source of further support and have been quality assured for appropriateness of content for age – but adult supervision and guidance is suggested.
  • It is vital that your child is safe online and supervision of their activity.
  • It is suggested that there is an appropriate balance between traditional activity and online resources to minimise the potential for safeguarding issues.

We are asking for two of these online or offline activites to be completed each day. Alongside this, your child's class Twitter account will also be posting a Maths and an English challenge to be completed daily as well.

                How do you wish to learn?

        How to show us what you've been doing:

So far we have been blown away by the great activities children who are self isolating have been doing and seeing these on Twitter! We want to continue to use our amazing Twitter community, so we are creating class accounts alongside our whole school one. You will be receiving a letter by email this week with the account information, so please just follow your child's class account and from there, post any pictures of the online or offline activities you have completed.

Each class in the school has been using the app Seesaw, which is an application that allows our children to upload work they have completed to be viewed by their class teacher. We want to continue children's familiarity with this app and use this as another way to allow children to submit their activities. The only difference here, is that no other children can view it. It will solely be for your child's class teacher. You will be emailed your child's invidiual passcode so that they can log in once you have downloaded the app Seesaw or alternatively log on by clicking here on a desktop: https://app.seesaw.me/#/login

Your child's class teacher will also be posting a Maths and English challenge each day on their class Twitter page for your child to complete! Post how they did on either Twitter or Seesaw once they've completed them. We can't wait to see their amazing work.
