Family Support Worker

My name is Mrs Angela Livingstone; I am the Family Support here at Dee Point Primary School. My main role is to support children and families well-being and I  also support Mr Williams and Miss Jones  as a Safeguarding Lead in our school. .

I can help you with any worries that you may have in relation to your child's well-being, social, emotional needs and behaviour. We understand that many children and families experience difficulties at times that can make a happy, successful home and school life a struggle. This could be as simple as a misunderstanding with friends or it could be a more complex issue such as a change in family circumstances or bereavement . It may be that the support is needed is for a short while or it could be a longer process. I work in a non-judgmental way and I am here to listen.  I understand children and families are faced with many difficult challenges in everyday life.  I can support you by signposting and contacting a range of different agencies that can also offer support including: Housing, Debt Agencies, local police, Health, Children's Centres, Education Welfare, Social Care, CAMHS.

Here are some of the examples of the things I can support you with.

  • Strengthening existing parenting skills
  • Managing challenging behaviour and setting boundaries
  • Routines, mealtimes, sleep and play
  • Housing and money worries
  • Attending multi agency meetings to support you and your family
  • Foodbank vouchers
  • Making informed choices and accessing local services

Also. within school, I work alongside our Pastoral Team including M Deputy Heaiss Laura Jones Assistant Headteacher, Mrs April Caldecott and Mrs Hannah Seddon, SENCO, Mrs Sian Porter., Mrs Liz Brackley and Ms Teresa Caputo who are our 3 learning mentors.  As a team we ensure all our children’s well-being and SEN needs are met.

You are more than welcome to pop into school and chat with me or you can contact me on 01244 372631
